Director's welcome

Welcome to the Institute for Biocomputation and Physics of Complex Systems (BIFI)of the University of Zaragoza.
At BIFI we study complex systems, such as living organisms and their molecules, with the characteristic thoroughness of quantitative disciplines, providing a unique environment for cell biologists, biophysicists, physicists and computer experts. BIFI researchers combine theory, simulation and experimentation, and focus on
understanding and solving specific issues such as the relationships between Structural Biology and Medicine or between Network Theory and social phenomena.
BIFI’s objectives are achieving research excellence, transferring knowledge, forming multidisciplinary researchers and spreading in society the value of Science. BIFI practices an open scientific culture and enjoys a wide network of collaborations with prestigious groups and international institutions.
If you think we can work together to advance any of these objectives, please contact us.
